Blighttown is no longer plagued with frame-rate issues on PS4/ PS4 Pro

The Dark Souls remaster is releasing this week, and it looks like Blighttown - an area infamous for frame-rate dips - runs at a smooth 60FPS on the PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Digital Foundry got its hands on a PlayStation 4 copy of the game, and while it was missing its day one patch, it looks like the Blighttown woes are a thing of the past.

Dark Souls Remastered runs at 60FPS without a "single hiccup" and frame-pacing issues are resolved with a 60Hz refresh rate.

"Optimisation for PS4 systems is at the heart of the turnaround," says Digital Foundry. "The games playability at 60FPS is the biggest advantage of the remaster."

Digital Foundry concluded that the PS4 remaster is "a glowing early sign for PS4 users".

Last month, we got a glimpse of Blighttown in the Nintendo Switch master at PAX East. The game looked nice and smooth there as well, boding well for PC and Xbox One versions.

Ahead of this week's release, players were given the chance to participate in the network beta test on PS4 and Xbox One.

The Switch version has been delayed to a summer release, alongside the Solaire of Astora amiibo. The Switch network test was also delayed.

Dark Souls Remastered launches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 25.
