Fornite Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode has been announced, as a lead up to future competitive play options in Battle Royale.
Epic Games has announced a competitive Limited Time Mode for battle royale, with Solo Showdown, which is live right now.
The rules are pretty simple. You must play 50 games of Fortnite in the Solo Showdown LTM and you’re scored on your final placement. At the end of the contest period, the top 100 players are awarded free V-bucks to spend in-game.
“Unlike other LTMs, Solo Showdown will not change core gameplay of the current Solo mode,” reads Epic’s blog post. “Instead, you will be placed against other self-selected competitors making this the ultimate test of survival.”
Solo Showdown Standings
The Fortnite Solo Showdown Standings will be continually updated throughout the duration of the event on the blog. Just head over there to check the standings to see which players are dominating the rest.
Prizes and rules
The top 100 players will receive their rewards after the event wraps up on May 21. Players have to participate in 50 Solo Showdown matches to be eligible for a prize, which is a load of sweet, sweet V-bucks. The amount you get is dependent on your placement:
- 1st Place: 50,000 V-bucks
- 2nd – 4th Place: 25,000 V-Bucks
- 5th – 50th Place: 13,500 V-bucks
- 51st – 100th Place: 7,500 V-bucks
Epic has describe the Solo Showdown as “a one-off stepping stone to learn how to build great events for all types of players,” and went on to say that it had a “major announcement about competitive play” to share next week.
The scoring system is pretty straight forward. You can see all the scores for placement below.
That’s essentially all there is to it, but you can read up on the more terms and conditions of the LTM and how the scoring will works here.
Have fun and good luck!
