You sadly won’t be able to dress up as the Avengers in Fortnite

Thanos may have just invaded Fortnite in a big crossover event, but the Avengers won’t follow suit.

The incredible surprise of Thanos’ arrival in Fortnite took the game by storm. In case you missed it, the Mad Titan is a playable hero in Fortnite as part of limited-time event that sees players wielding the Infinity Gauntlet.

Surely, then, if it’s possible for Thanos to be in Fortnite, shouldn’t that mean that his opponents – the mighty Avengers – can too?

Not according to Epic Games, unfortunately, who said that you won’t be able to buy or earn Avengers skins in Fortnite. On Reddit, community coordinator JustMooney1 confirmed that there are no plans for Earth’s mightiest heroes to join the fun.

“Just because I’ve seen lots of folks asking, we have no plans for Avengers outfits in the store,” said the game’s community coordinator.

That doesn’t explicitly rule out any future events that’ll let us play as one of the Avengers, so one could only hope.

Fortnite received its weekly update earlier today. You can read the patch notes, as well as a guide on how to play as Thanos, by clicking through the link.

The patch’s release also kicked off Week 2 of Fortnite’s Season 4 Challenges, in addition to the Blockbuster Challenge with a secret free Battle Star.
