Fortnite Battle Royale - a first look at Thanos in action

Last night, Epic Games and Marvel announced an unprecedented crossover event for Fortnite that lets us play as Thanos. People are already getting stuck in and smashing each other in the face with the Infinity Gauntlet.

Before we go straight to the raw action, though, here's how it works.

At the beginning of each match, a meteor lands and drops the Infinity Gauntlet. The player who interacts with it becomes Thanos and gets a bunch of cool abilities, a super jump, and a massive boost to health and shield. They can't build or use weapons, but they really don't need to.

If you manage to kill Thanos, you can pick up the gauntlet and become the blue badass himself. Here's the official trailer:

Of course, that doesn't give you an idea of how he plays in game, so here's some footage of a YouTuber wrecking half of Fortnite Island with Thanos.

Are you planning to have a go at the new limited time mode? Let us know in the comments. We're expecting to see some crazy videos come out of it once everyone gets to grips with controlling him.

As well as playing as the Marvel villain, there are other Fortnite Week 2 Challenges to be getting on with, including searching between a Scarecrow, Pink Hotrod, and a Big Screen, and where to dance in front of 7 cameras.
