Red Dead Redemption 2 has multiple special editions, more details next month

Rockstar has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to launch in more than one special edition.

Although Rockstar games typically don't have a host of special editions, it looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to have at least one.

Special editions are typically more expensive versions that include digital, and sometimes physical, little additions. These could take the form of posters, figurines, or in-game DLC such as what you see in Ubisoft games.

More information about said special editions, and Red Dead Redemption 2 in general, will be announced in June. Rockstar left this tiny tease at the end of a blog post revealing new screenshots from the game, which we covered last week.

E3 takes place in June, of course, so Rockstar could be alluding to the trade show as the next time we're going to be finding out more about the game. That said, the developer doesn't usually have a presence at E3 the way you expect others to.

What we could see is a Rockstar representative taking Sony's stage to announce a special edition or some exclusive DLC. Rockstar already confirmed PS4 players will get exclusive in-game items in Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, and our first look at it may be Sony's E3 conference.

A PS4 bundle is also possible, since Rockstar did a similar thing prior to the launch of GTA 5, taking the stage to announce a GTA 5 PS4 bundle.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out October 26 on PS4, and Xbox One. For more on the game, check out our big Red Dead Redemption 2 FAQ.
