New Doom film in the works at Universal Studios

Looks like rumors from 2011 regarding a new Doom film were true.

Universal Studios is in the process of developing a new Doom film based on the video game franchise.

News of the Doom film was confirmed via a tweet from actor and Letters from the Fire vocalist Nina Bergman earlier this week (thanks, Screenrant.)

She also promised the script for the film was much better than the 2005 movie starring Dwayne Johnson and the always fabulous Karl Urban.

First rumored in 2011, it was reported at the time Universal was looking for scriptwriter for a complete franchise reboot.

It was also reportedly going the 3D route, but considering the fad is pretty much over, it looks doubtful. But what do we know? Nothing, really.

Further information on the upcoming project was not available as of press time, but it will likely skip a theatrical release and go strait to video on demand.

Thanks, Blue.
