Light Machine Guns are coming to Fortnite

Fortnite is getting a new weapon: Light Machine Guns.

Epic Games revealed the latest addition to Fortnite Battle Royale the same way previous weapons and items were announced, through the in-game news blasts.

Light Machine Guns already exist in Fortnite's Save the World PvE mode, but this would be the first time they cross over to the multiplayer battle royale side. Fortnite Intel caught Epic's message about them earlier this week.

Light Machine Guns have a high rate of fire and a large magazine, but suffer from long load times.

This is par for the course, and according to datamining by Storm Shield, LMGs hold 100 bullets in the magazine. The reload time is at 4.75 seconds, pretty long for a weapon in Fortnite.

References to Rare and Epic variants were found in the game's database, so these are very likely going to be your options.

It's also possible Light Machine Guns will be purchasable in the recently added Vending Machines.

Typically, when Epic announces a new weapon at the start of the week, it ends up becoming available in the weekly patch.
