Zelda: Breath of the Wild wins GOTY at GDC Awards, Cuphead and Gorogoa earn two each

Breath of the Wild walked off with Game of the Year during the annual GDC Awards last night.

Nominees for the 18th annual GDC Awards were announced in January, with PUBG, Nier: Automata, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Super Mario Odyssey up for Game of the Year.

As previously mentioned, Breath of the Wild won the category, and also took home Best Audio and Best Design.

Cuphead walked off with Best Debut and Best Visual Art. Gorogoa, the puzzle game developed by Jason Roberts and published by Annapurna Interactive, won the Innovation Award and Best Mobile title. The Audience Award went to Nier:Automata.

Vlambeer's Rami Ismail was given the Ambassador Award, and Tim Schafer was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award.
