Indie by Design as taken to Kickstarter to fund Oddworld: Abe’s Origins, an exclusive book and game collection.
Oddworld: Abe’s Origins features original game design documents, never-before-seen concept art, and interviews with the Oddworld creators all wrapped up in a lovely, hardbound book.
The project was teased by Oddworld Inhabitants last week for a March 20 last week. Since the reveal was scheduled the same day as Nintendo’s Ninties Showcase, many thought (us included) a game reveal would take place during the presentation. l
Alongside the book, an exclusive physical game package created in conjunction with Oddworld Inhabitants and Limited Run Games is included when pledging £60.
The game package, Oddworld: Abe’s Origins Game Collection, features the original Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus on PC DVD. The collection is exclusive to the campaign, so it will not be made available anywhere else.
Oddworld: Abe’s Origins Game Collection features a DVD case to match the cover of the book, alongside a booklet containing instructions, lore and art. It comes housed in high quality, big box PC packaging.
Backers will also be provided with digital codes for Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus should they wish for the collector’s case to remain intact.
The first stretch goal is a lovely bookmark for backers, and if reached, further stretch goals will be revealed. Indie by Design said it has “great ideas for enhancing both the book and game package,” with stretch goals.
The Oddworld: Abe’s Origins – Book and Game Collection has a funding goal of $63,058. At present, 523 backers have pledged $35,873 to bring the project to life.
It will only be funded if said goal is reached by April 20.
