Darwin Project, the survival battle royale game from Scavengers Studio, is now available through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview.

Two days before landing in Early Access, the team behind Darwin Project updated the Spectator Interactions feature, a provided a set of patch notes.

If you are unfamiliar with Darwin Project, here’s the synopsis:

“The Darwin Project takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. As preparation for an impending Ice Age, a new project, half science experiment half live-entertainment, is launched. It’s called the “Darwin Project” and it challenges participants to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous arena. The Darwin Project offers a competitive multiplayer third person survival experience featuring at its core a new gameplay innovation: the manhunt. In his or her path to victory, a player must survive extreme environmental conditions, track opponents, and set traps in order to win.

Before going into early access, the team pushed out a cross-livestream feature update. This added a health and cold bar as well as a Steam avatar to the vote interface – which will also now disappear after viewers cast their vote.

The studio also reduced the number of players required to start a Private Match from 10 down to two. It suggests players still try to find more people from the community and play matches with a full 10-player lobby.

With the patch, leaderboards will reset every Tuesday at 2pm EST, and the user interface now has a Report button at the end of the match.

Default mouse sensitivity has been reduced from 50 to 30, which should make aiming the bow “a little more stable for new players.”

Darwin Project will run you $14.99 through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview.
