Outlast: Bundle of Terror gets surprise release on eshop for Switch

Outlast has arrived on the eshop for Switch, without prior notice from developer Red Barrels. Who doesn't like nice surprises?

Time to get scared out of your wits, Switch users.

Outlast: Bundle of Terror is currently available on the eshop in Europe for Switch and will be rolling out in all available locations today, including North America.

Bundle of Terror includes Outlast and its Whistleblower add-on, and Outlast 2 is now available to pre-order for Switch. It's out for the console on March 27.

Outlast was first released in 2013 on PC before making its way to consoles in 2014. The downloadable content, Outlast: Whistleblower, was also released in 2014.

Red Barrels said when docked, Outlast runs at 1008p 30fps but will drop to 720p 30fps when taken on the road.

Outlast 1 and Outlast 2 were announced for Switch back in December 2017, alongside news of something "special" in the works that's Outlast related.

Red Barrels also said at the time it would develop Outlast 3 “at some point.”

Outlast: Bundle of Terror will run you £19.99 or the regional equivalent.
