Emergency Battlefield 1 patch fixes stuttering introduced in Apocalypse patch

With the release of Battlefield 1's final expansion, Apocalypse, came a big patch that added some new assignments, and the new Afflictions specialisations.

Unfortunately, the patch introduced some pretty noticeable stutter for all Battlefield 1 players. This would happen every time you got a kill, and anytime you made progress in any of your assignments.

It was a very noticeable, if brief disruption. After investigating, developer DICE confirmed that the latest batch of assignments was "the straw that broke the camel’s back", and exposed a problem with the rewards system.

In order to reduce the strain on the game's rewards system, DICE made a few changes to the new service assignments. "You will no longer need to complete 5 of the Staying Focused Assignments to begin working towards Assignments in the Climbing The Ranks category," DICE said.

"To keep the same level of difficulty, the Service Assignments that unlock Afflictions have been moved underneath some of the Climbing The Ranks Assignments, serving as a soft gate before gaining access to the Afflictions."

This won't affect any Affliction progress you made these past few days, so you shouldn't lose anything. All of this is part of a patch that went live earlier today.

See the complete set of patch notes below:

  • Fixed an issue where players were experiencing a momentary dip in performance whenever earning points in a match.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Factory was missing sights.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Defensive was missing the optical sight
