Ubisoft rolls back price of Rainbow Six Siege standard edition after customer feedback

Ubisoft has reversed the price hike on the standard edition of Rainbow Six Siege, which was recently re-branded as the Advanced Edition.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft revealed a new pricing scheme for Rainbow Six Siege, which changed the standard $40 version of the game into the Advanced Edition with a $60 price tag.

Folks weren't too pleased over the price hike of the standard edition, so in response, Ubisoft said it will be "keeping the standard edition in the store at the current price".

"Following [Thursday’s] announcement, we have seen the frustration from our current players rise to the top of the discussion," reads the statement on the Rainbow Six reddit. "For our newcomers and those of you concerned about introducing your friends to the game, we will be keeping the Standard Edition in the store at the current price."

Ubisoft also said it would be sharing more information on acquiring Operators with the Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition during the Six Invitational.

Finally, the company said it will be handing out the Ash Sidewinder Elite skin for free to all who play an online match between now and March 6. It will show in players' inventory at the launch of Year 3 Season 1.

Price increases for the Gold Edition and Complete Edition, which will be available for purchase starting February 13, still stand. The former's price increased by $20, and the latter by $40.
