Release dates: every game confirmed for 2018

By Sherif Saed, Wednesday, 3 January 2018 15:35 GMT

It’s official! 2017 is over. Having been one of the best years in recent memory – as far as games are concerned – the only thing we can do now is look to the future and hope 2018 is as good or better.

2018 has only just kicked off, but many developers have already set release dates or targets for the biggest games. Then there are, of course, the few anticipated 2017 games that got pushed back.

As we do every year, we’ve gathered as many release dates as possible in one place for you to check out anytime. The list is updated daily, and though we do try to include as many games as possible, some inevitably slip.

All the major releases will be here, though, so don’t fret. If you want to return to the entire 2017 release list anytime, you can do so via the link below:

Here are all the confirmed release dates for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One games. These are the Western release dates, and always the earliest – whether that is US, worldwide, or European dates. We sometimes also highlight other anticipated releases like DLCs, betas, big updates and so on.

The list will be split into even more months and seasons the more release dates get confirmed.

January and February

The first two months of the year are typically relatively quiet, compared to the onslaught of the fall. That said, more and more big games are moving their release dates to these months for better exposure.

In 2018, January and February are full of surprises. We already have confirmed release dates for Monster Hunter World, the Shadow of the Colossus remake, Dragon Ball FighterZ, the big Arcade Edition update for Street Fighter 5 and many more.

March, Q1, and early 2018

far_cry_5_full_art

Compared to January and February, March looks a bit quieter than usual. For many publishers, releasing games in March is a good way to boost fiscal year earnings before it ends, but we don’t have as many heavy-hitters this time around.

What we do have, however, is Far Cry 5, the promising A Way Out, Attack on Titan 2, the Western release of Yakuza 6, and a few other games. This is also where we’re going to lump all games with tentative “early 2018” release targets, and anything else aiming for the first quarter.

  • Bravo Team (PSVR) – March 6
  • Final Fantasy 15: Windows Edition (PC) – March 6
  • Final Fantasy 15: Royal Edition (PS4, Xbox One) – March 6

Spring 2018 and the rest of Q2

Red Dead Redemption 2

There is a large chunk of the year leading up to and extending for a bit after E3 2018. It’s different every year, but we’re hoping big-ticket spring games like Red Dead Redemption 2 will actually make it out in the spring like Rockstar announced and not get delayed, again.

Because we’re including April and May in this section, you’ll find games like Crackdown 3, Vampyr, We Happy Few, State of Decay 2 and others – all without confirmed dates.

Summer, Q3, and fall 2018

overkills_the_walking_dead_Aidan_RevealArt_nologo

Summer isn’t typically grouped up with the busy fall season, but we’re only doing this now because there just aren’t that many confirmed dates. Many of the biggest games have a vague “second half” release window, whereas others opted for the less opaque “fall” target.

Besides that, there aren’t really that many games targeting the summer, at least not yet. Many of the games here will eventually have proper dates as the year goes on.

  • Project Rap Rabbit (PC, PS4) – August
