Devil May Cry HD Collection won't support 4K resolutions

Don't count on the upcoming Devil May Cry HD Collection to support your shiny new PS4 Pro, or Xbox One X.

The Devil May Cry HD Collection, which Capcom announced last week, is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in March.

Most new releases feature support for PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X, whether it be improved fidelity, unlocked frame-rate or just a higher resolution than base models. Unfortunately, the Devil May Cry HD Collection isn't going to have any of these enhancements.

Capcom confirmed to USgamer that the collection will run at 1080p, 60fps on all consoles as well as PCs. As the site points out, this is an upgrade from 720p, which is what last gen's collection rat at.

That said, it's still below expectations. Capcom added it has no plans to add 4K support.

The improved hardware inside the PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X should be enough to support resolutions higher than 1080p, surely, so it's disappointing not to see it utilised.

Devil May Cry HD Collection includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. It's out March 13 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
