Pokemon GO update adds dynamic weather based on location and 50 Gen-3 Pokemon

Pokemon from the Hoenn Region will start appearing this week in Pokemon GO.

The latest update for Pokemon GO will go live later this week with 50 Pokemon from generation three.

Things will kick off with Pokemon Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and several more from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire will arrive over the next several weeks.

A dynamic weather system will also be introduced with new weather effects. This will also change the way players discover, catch, and interact with Pokemon as the system is based upon local weather patterns. Trainers are advised to pay close attention to the current forecast when out trying to catch Pokemon.

Weather near players will impact Pokemon in a variety of ways and some attacks will be more effective during certain conditions.

For example: the odds of discovering Mudkip will increase on rainy days; and Charizard’s Fire Spin will perform better on sunny days.

Gen 3 Pokemon started arriving Pokemon GO back in October when the Halloween event kicked off. These included Duskull, Sableye, Banette and others.
