crea-ture's spiritual successor to Skate is already off to a promising start.

It feels like a lifetime since the skateboarding sim was a vibrant feature of the gaming landscape. Now crea-ture Studios is attempting to restart the genre with Session, starting with a fully playable demo. But crea-ture isn't stopping there - it's also launched a Kickstarter campaign to allow for console editions.

The full details are available on Session's Kickstarter page, but there a couple of points worth noting. First, the game already has a strong reception, earning over half of its $80,000 goal within a day. Second - and perhaps most importantly - the studio has already secured enough funding for Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview launches. The Kickstarter would simply allow for more robust releases on each platform.

"As stated before, this doesn’t mean at all that we will make this game for PC only," the team said in a previous statement. "Far from it. We want this game on console as much as we want it on PC. However, we’ll need your help to get there so we will most definitely have stretch goals for consoles."

If Session is fully backed, which seems likely, we can expect a final release sometime in 2019.
