The option to purchase crystals in Star Wars Battlefront 2 has disappeared

The backlash against Star Wars Battlefront 2 might be prompting some major changes.

By now it's pretty firmly established that Star Wars Battlefront 2 is lousy with microtransactions. So as to avoid repeating myself, this story from earlier today has the full story of what has been going on.

The situation has looked grim...and now it's looking like EA might need to jump into damage control and deal with this, as fans turn on the game in droves (the Metacritic user average for the PS4 version sits at 0.8 right now, which is not great).

Earlier today Gamespot noticed that, in the Xbox One version of the game, you're unable to purchase Crystals right now. EA has now confirmed that this was an intentional move, and that it applies to all versions...at least temporarily.

If this is what it seems to be, it'll be the third major change in the game's progression system since the beta, and the second this week. To be frank, it's a bit of a shitshow.

We'll keep you updated when microtransactions return - hopefully the game will receive the revisions it clearly, badly needs.
