Rocket League zooms onto Switch on November 14 with exclusive Nintendo-themed cars

Rocket League finally has a Switch release date.

The enormously successful sequel to obscure PS3 classic Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars is coming to Switch on November 14, and will feature a few Nintendo-exclusive cars.

The Mario and Luigi NSR cars look much like everyone's favourite gaming brothers, while the Metroid: Samus' Gunship vehicle is exactly as sleek and orange as you'd want. It's also the closest we're getting to Metroid on Switch in some time, we suspect, with Metroid Prime 4 still a while away.

Rocket League will bring all the features available in the other versions to Switch, but portability will be big - being able to take Rocket League to Christmas lunch is going to liven things up a bit, even if your uncle squints at the screen and says that it's too small to properly play.

Rocket League might be two years old at this point, but it's still getting frequent updates and additions. Hopefully the Switch version will keep pace.

November will be a big month for the Switch: it's also getting Sonic Forces, Doom, Snipperclips Plus, LA Noire, Rime, Skyrim, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, and both Resident Evil Revelations games this month.
