Middle-earth: Shadow of War is getting Infinite Shadow Wars mode for all your orc slaughtering needs

An endless mode of sorts will be included with the first tribe DLC drop for Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Developer Monolith revealed in a recent livestream the first post-release Tribe content offering, the Slaughter Tribe, will usher in an extra mode which is an endless version of Shadow of War's endgame content Shadow Wars. It's said to be a free download.

If you haven't played the game yet, Shadow Wars can be described as a tower defense mode with waves of enemies trying to destroy each of they payer's fortresses.

In Shadow of War, each fortress will be attacked by Orc tribes, but only one at a time. To beat Shadow Wars, the player will need to hold control points to keep the fortress from being conquered by the enemy. It's not just meat shields players will content with, as there are plenty of stronger Orcs such as captains and warchiefs to take out.

Should the player fail to keep control of the fortress, they will need to retake it. One the sieges are all nipped in the bud so to speak, the game is "won."

There's not much else to it really, as it's pretty self-explanatory, but you will obviously need to build Talion up before taking on every damn Orc in Mordor (thanks a LOT Sauron you jerk). Hopefully, Alex's Middle-earth: Shadow of War guide can help you with that, as I have no pointers for you due to not having played it just yet.

As far as the free DLC Infinite Shadow Wars is concerned, expect the mechanics to stay the same, only the sieges will go on indefinitely. Gluttons for punishment should enjoy it (thanks, PCgamesN).

If you want to watch the full stream from Monolith instead of the clip above, here it is on YouTube.

Monolith said during the stream the release for Shadow Wars would be "coming very quickly," but a date was not provided.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War was released last week on October 10 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If you missed scanning the review scores, we have you covered. We also have our own review for Shadow of War if you fancy giving it a read.

The Slaughter Tribe DLC is part of the $40 Season Pass which includes a total of four content drops. The other three are: the Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion, The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion, and The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion.
