Battlefield 1 Turning Tides - here's an early look at two new maps, new weapons

We now know a lot more details about Battlefield 1's upcoming expansion, Turning Tides.

DICE has now officially unveiled what players can expect from Battlefield 1: Turning Tides, the game's next expansion. Turning Tides comes with four new maps, a new faction, six new weapons, a new Elite class, and even more vehicles.

Not everything will be out on the same day, however. Two maps, in Achi Baba and Cape Helles, will be released in December. The new Royal Marines faction, new weapons, and the rest of the DLC will be released in January.

Right now, players on the CTE are able to try out early versions of Achi Baba and Cape Helles. When we say early, we mean whitebox-style early with no textures. In the video below, Westie shows off gameplay on the two maps.

Cape Helles is set on the Gallipoli peninsula during the Gallipoli landings with British forces as attackers, and the Ottoman Empire defending. Achi Baba also takes place during the Gallipoli offensive near a hilltop as the British try to take it. This one is infantry-focused, featuring a tighter setting than Cape Helles.

Alongside the new maps, Turning Tides is also bringing back Conquest Assault. The mode is available on the CTE alongside these early versions of both maps. For those unfamiliar, Conquest Assault starts out with the defending team controlling all flags. The attacking team must then capture all flags to prevent the enemy team from spawning, ending the match.

Some of the new weapons coming with Turning Tides are available for testing on CTE, such as the Farquhar-Hill rifle, the Maschinenpistole M1912, the M1917 MG, the Carcano M91 Carbine, and the Type 38 Arisaka.
