The Evil Within 2 launch trailer features plenty of action, grotesque monsters, a bit of plot

Friday the 13th is just two days away. Instead of Jason showing up at the cabin where you and your date are having some "alone time," something worse will come crashing through the door.

Actually, you'll be the one crashing through a door, which is a metaphor for being connected to the STEM world in The Evil Within 2.

Here, one person's mind is being used as the central “Core,” and this person builds and controls the world Sebastian has voluntarily entered.

In The Evil Within 2, the town of Union is being controlled by Lily, Sebastian's missing daughter. Her mind is being used as the Core in this instance, but she has gone missing inside of STEM. This is causing Union to deteriorate as she loses her mind.

It's a sick, twisted place full of horrors along with demented antagonists Stefano and Theodore.

Both Stefano and Theodore are shown in the video, but there are even scary things roaming about the place. Hopefully, the Mobius agents Sebastian comes across will help him out - for better or worse has yet to be determined. Cross your fingers Juli Kidman won't turn on him in the end.

If you want more than just the launch trailer, we have the first hour of The Evil Within 2 gameplay, covering Chapters 1 and 2, available for viewing.

Those who plan on picking The Evil Within 2 up for PC can look over the minimum and recommended specs through here.

On October 13, the game will be made available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
