PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds getting a new weapon in next week's patch

Another new weapon is coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and this time it won't be crate-only.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' next update is due for release next week, developer Bluehole has announced. The patch will first roll out on test servers early in the week, before launching for everyone else two days later.

The developer did not reveal the full list of changes, but the biggest addition is the new weapon. Called the Mini-14, this DMR will be available as a loot drop across the map.

In the real world, the Mini-14 uses 5.56mm ammo. This could be a way of introducing a 5.56mm DMR to the meta, to rival the SKS with with its 7.62mm ammo. That said, it'll likely be less damaging but easier to control.

As for the patch, it'll be the game's first in a while. It's going to bring the foggy weather condition, and finally add first-person perspective leaderboards. Expect the full change log to be revealed before the patch hits the test server.
