Splatoon 2 players handed a new weapon just in time for this weekend's Splatfest

The first Splatfest is happening this weekend in Splatoon 2, and on top of that, players have been handed another new weapon.

Splatoon 2 players can now use the Sploosh-o-matic, which was available in the first title, and just in time for Splatfest this weekend too.

It may be a short- range weapon with low-accuracy, but it has a high rate of fire and attack power. Great for close-up fights, apparently.

The weapon features the sub Curling Bomb and its special is Splashdown.

The first post-launch Splatfest is currently live and ends tonight at 9pm PT, 12am ET. In the UL and Europe, it ends at 3pm and 4pm, respectively.

Players will be able to splat others with either ketchup or mayonnaise-colored ink during the fun, depending on the chosen allegiance. You can see this in the image below posted by s7ealth over on the Switch sub-reddit.

Also, the Splatfest in Splatoon 2 contains an exclusive stage called Shifty Station. It has been added to the standard selection of stages.

Nintendo said the stage will be available in future Splatfests, but the design will change for each one. It said this will help keep players on their toes.

Anyway, stop reading this and join the Splatfest. And please choose Ketchup. It tastes great on everything. Well, maybe not chocolate. Or ice cream. Or green beans.

Okay, maybe it doesn't taste great on everything, but neither does mayonnaise.
