PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a new weapon next week: the Mk14 EBR

We now know what the new weapon coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the next patch is going to be.

After developer Bluehole confirmed early details of the July patch this week, it has now released the first image of the Mk14 EBR, the new rifle coming next week.

The Mk14 EBR is going to be a crate-only weapon. It takes 7.62mm ammo, similar to the AKM, SKS and others. Much like the SKS, the Mk14 is an DMR that'll likely work best in mid-to-long ranges.

The image released by the game's official Twitter shows a bipod, though, so it's not clear if deploying bipods would be something we'll be able to do with the weapon or if it's just part of the model.

Still, it's disappointing to not see it in the general loot table. Crate weapons are very rare, considering how many players actually go for crates. Even then, each crate comes with one weapon, so the Mk14 will have to compete for the same space with the rest of the crate weapons.

The July monthly patch releases August 3.
