Windjammers gets August release date on PS4, PS Vita
Windjammers, the arcade, top-down disc throwing game first released on the Neo Geo back in 1994, is finally coming to PS4 and Vita on August 29.
This re-release was first announced at PlayStation Experience last year, surprising almost everyone.
To this day, Windjammers continues to have a vibrant competitive community in France, and is obviously appreciated by those with access to Neo Geo hardware. Publisher DotEmu hosted a closed beta in June, but it looks the game is now ready for launch.
This version retains everything found in the original, including all characters and stages. It supports local, as well as online multiplayer - something the original did not have. There's also Ranked Mode ladders.
Windjammers utilises GGPO netcode, arguably the best in netcode for fighting games. Though it's not a fighting game, Windjammers is very fast-paced and would benefit from GGPO.
Windjammers is out August 29 on PS4, and PS Vita.
