Sony has made an important and grand change to PSN overnight: making Trophies sync faster with its servers.
In case you’re wondering, no, this is not a joke. This massive development was considered big enough that Sony announced it on the official PlayStation Twitter to its 14 million followers.
The tweet says Trophies will be available “as soon as they’re unlocked” which is a change from how things used to work. Players have always been able to manually sync Trophies if they wanted them to register the moment they’re unlocked. For most, however, the automatic Trophy syncing feature takes care of things when PS4 consoles go into Rest Mode.
Starting today, Trophies will sync much more quickly so you can brag to your friends as soon as they’re unlocked! 🏆

Though hardly surprising, the first few replies on this tweet are all asking Sony to allow players to change their IDs, the loudest and most common request by fans since the PS3 days.
Yesterday, there was a brief PSN outage across many regions, so maybe this had something to do with it
