Final Fantasy 15: Episode Prompto trailer shows third-person shooting, snowmobiles, bazookas, daddy issues

Final Fantasy 15 goes all TPS on us as we explore Prompto's past. Spoilers, maybe?

Final Fantasy 15's season pas content continues with the new Episode Prompto DLC.

The trailer above gives us a good look at the new adventure and while I'm not 100% across the state of Final Fantasy 15's plot (has Square Enix finished patching it up yet?) it seems like it might have some meaty Episode Prompto spoilers in it.

Without detailing what we see and hear, it looks like we'll find out more about Prompto's past and family, and his relationship with the rest of the group will be tested. Maybe the plot of Episode Prompto will go off the rails and end up somewhere else (this is Final Fantasy 15, after all), but if not then this trailer really seems to give away too much. Here's the official description, which is far less detailed:

"Separated from the group and alone in an arctic environment, experience an untold story as Prompto fights to discover the truth behind his origins and to take control of his own fate."

Anyway, plot aside, the trailer shows off the new third-person shooting action coming with Final Fantasy 15: Episode Prompto. You get to see Prompto use a bazooka and drive a snowmobile around, too.

Final Fantasy 15: Episode Prompto releases next week for PS4 and Xbox One. It will be accompanied by some free content - the Regalia Type-D off-road vehicle.

Final Fantasy 15 will also receive Ignis DLC, so stay tuned for more on everyone's favourite megane husbando.
