Quake Champions is the second best game shown today to feature BJ Blazkowicz

Quake Champions is introducing Wolfenstein's BJ Blazkowicz as a playable character, and he's playable in the closed beta from today.

The stoic hero of the Wolfenstein games is joining the fray, although he looks less expressive here than he does in the amazing trailer for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

Also of note is the announcement of the Quake World Championships, an event the trailer touts as being 'twenty years in the making'. This will be happening on August 26 at Quakecon in Texas, with a $1 million prize pool up for grabs.

There was no announcement of when Quake Champions 1.0 will release, but it was noted at the end of Bethesda's presentation that everything shown today would release before the end of 2017.

If you can't wait that long, though, you can register for the Quake beta on Quake Champions' website.
