Today, we were finally given a new glimpse at Star Wars: Battlefront 2 multiplayer gameplay.

While Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have a renewed focus on single-player - and it should - that doesn't mean multiplayer is being left behind. Case in point: Electronic Arts kicked off its Battlefront 2 E3 presentation with a bang by presenting a new multiplayer trailer. And so far, it looks promising.

Unlike the previous game, Battlefront 2 will focus on all three Star Wars eras: the original trilogy, the prequels, and the Force Awakens.

While the trailer footage focuses largely on a battle at Theed (probably because it was the centerpiece of EA's live stream today), it also takes time to explore brief combat scenes from the other eras. Most important of which is a space combat scene.Looks like EA has been listening.

Battlefront 2 will also have three times the content than 2015's offering, with more heroes, planets and vehicles in multiplayer mode. Player will also be bless with more customization options and progression paths from across the aforementioned films.

As previously reported, the new class system won’t quite offer the same level of freedom, but each class can still be drastically customized.  And content won't be locked behind the various editions of the game. Players will earn Battle Points through matches which can be spent on characters, heroes and vehicles.

More gameplay from the single-player and multiplayer experiences will likely be made available as E3 progresses, and we'll be covering it alongside the rest of the convention.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17, 2017.
