Capcom Japan has announced that Monster Hunter XX is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The announcement was brief, but the publisher promised to share more details about this version during the Monster Hunter Championship 2017 this Saturday, May 27 (via Nintendo Everything). A release date will be revealed at the event, too.

So far, this is a Japan-only affair, but judging by how Capcom has handled previous Monster Hunter launches, expect to hear news about a Western release within three to six months. That said, if you want don't want to wait, you can easily play the Japanese version by grabbing it from the Japanese eShop.

As Alex notes in his video above, it's safe to expect this to be a straight port of the 3DS version.

Hopefully Capcom will share first footage soon.
