Minecraft is getting Adventure Time DLC - feast your eyes on Jake the Dog and Finn the Human skins here

Minecraft joins forces with another youth culture phenomenon.

Minecraft players can soon enjoy an Adventure Time Mashup Pack, which you can see in the video above.

The video seems to confirm the pack includes Jake and Finn skins, but you also see brief glimpses of other popular Adventure Time characters like Ice King, Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Marceline and BMO, as well as the citizens of Ooo.

It's not clear whether these characters will appear as skins for Minecraft players, or for other beings and objects in the world. It does look like the pack includes Adventure Time textures to jazz up the landscape and objects like swords, too, but the video comes with a "cinematic imagining" and "not representative of actual gameplay" flag, so don't hold your breath.

After not telling us what the Minecraft Adventure Time Mashup Pack contains, Mojang and Microsoft haven't given us a release date, either. It's "coming soon". So's mass extinction, but okay.

We do know that - as usual for Minecraft DLC - the Adventure Time Mashup Pack is coming to the Windows 10, Pocket and console builds, and not the mothership Linux, Mac and PC version.

In news vaguely related, we got the first trailer for Netflix's Castlevania series today; it's being produced by Adventure Times studio Frederator. More pertinently to the subject at hand, multiplayer is free on Xbox this weekend if you wanna dive back in, and those returning to Minecraft should check out our list of great seeds.

Is Minecraft and Adventure Time your dream mashup or what? I know multiple nine year olds for whom this pack is going to feel like Christmas.
