Prey crafting exploit gets you unlimited resources

Get unlimited crafting materials in Prey using this glitch.

Like with many games that offer a layered crafting system, players have already found a glitch in Prey that could get you virtually unlimited resources, which you can then use to create some of the most crucial items like ammo, med kits, and so on.

The glitch was discovered by Random Chievo's (via Polygon), and you can see how it can be done in the video above.

Basically, Prey allows you to break down any junk into crafting components using the Recycler machine. The trick here, once you've scrapped an item, is to put the components back into the machine again to get even more components.

Assuming you have access to the Recycler machine, which you get when you reach Morgan Yu’s office, there's something you need to do in order for this to work. You'll need to refill the Recycler with the materials divided into at least four stacks. The game allows you to split the piles, which is what must be done to duplicate the components.

From there, you can use these crafting materials to create whatever you want. This is especially helpful for rare materials.

This glitch obviously breaks the game, so only do it if you don't care about immersion. Even then, don't expect to enjoy it for long, as it'll likely get patched out soon.
