This Fallout: New Vegas speedrun just broke the world record.

Watch live video from kungkobra on

In this video, KungKobra takes advantage of a strange glitch in the game to jump forward dramatically. Guns that only reload a single bullet at a time in New Vegas, such as the revolver he buys in Goodsprings, can be exploited.

By reloading, pulling out the PipBoy mid animation, unequipping and pressing TAB, the player is able to go flying forward. Beyond this, it’s a matter of planning out the route exactly, knowing which attributes to throw points into, and making sure that you don’t die.

By doing this, they manage to finish the game in 13 minutes and 45 seconds. It’s a fascinating video just for how hard it is to follow, as is so often the case with speedrunning.

Fallout: New Vegas is available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
