Compare and contrast with the Resident Evil 7: Biohazard TV spot aired during The Walking Dead. I'm pretty excited about this game, especially after Alex said it's so good, but I thought the US TV spot was really - dull? And somehow, the Japanese edit just seems way more engaging. Your mileage may vary.
This is all happening because Capcom is warming up the old marketing engines ahead of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's January launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It'll be the first major release of 2017 and a fine antidote to all the whimsy of the holiday season.
It makes a lot of changes from the classic series formula, but since Resident Evil reinvents itself every few releases it's probably not worth getting too upset over. Save your energy for paying up your health insurance ahead of potential stress-induced cardiac arrest.
