Get your first look at Prey gameplay during The Game Awards this week

Prey is coming for you, which is a confusing statement.

Prey will make its gameplay debut during The Gamw Awards this Thursday, host Geoff Keighley has announced.

Although it will be the first time we see a slab of footage, we have technically already seen Prey gameplay. Neither drop was enough to satisfy our curiosity, though.

Since Prey is expected in 2017 and Bethesda does love its shorter PR cycles these days we've not seen much of the project, but what we have seen points to a pretty creepy science fiction FPS, or at least first-person something (Arkane is the crew that gave us Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Arx Fatalis, after all).

We have had some story info, like this trailer on the TranStar Corporation and the underlying threat, and we know Prey is set in an alternate timeline where the US space program flourished. Protagonist Morgan Yu can be male or female, and it's a total reboot, so don't expect ties to Human Head's work.

With any luck Bethesda will use The Game Awards showcase to give us a better idea of when Prey will release. Tune in from 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT Thursday for all the action. We'll have a stream embedded on the site if you want some company.
