The next Ark: Survival Evolved update features dinosaurs with laser beams on their heads

New content is in the works for Ark: Survival Evolved and it's rather techy.

As revealed in the latest issue of PC Gamer, Tek Tier is exactly as it sounds: a new technology tier for the crafting system in Ark.

The update will be released in parts, with the first dropping in the coming weeks. Players will receive the Tek armor and rifle and the Giga Helmet, which PC Gamer described as a "laser head cannon tyrannosaur headpiece."

Crafted items such as the Tek helmet will features a hud which is able to highlight creatures and other players. It will also show which are friendly, neutral or hostile by color.

Night vision, Tek gauntlets, a chestpiece with a jetpack and speedboost pants are other additions. It's worth noting that every ability and function with Tek tech will require the rare resource Element which is acquire when completing endgame challenges. More are expected in the next six months, according to PC Gamer.

As part of the Tek Tier update, underwater bases are in the works but those won't drop until early next year.

If you pick up the latest issue of the magazine, you will also find the complete content roadmap for Ark before it finally leaves Steam Early Access.
