The PlayStation 4 Pro offers tangible visual and performance improvements in many games, that much is known and expected. But when it comes to a multiplayer game as hectic as Battlefield 1, things start to veer a bit into PC territory when it comes to different hardware units offering a clear difference in performance.

The same resolution upgrade and frame-rate bump found in the single-player portion of the game, appear to also carry over to multiplayer, as the recent Digital Foundry analysis reveals.

Frame-rate variance between the Pro and the standard PS4 can be as high as 47 percent, according to the report. The site wanted the test to represent actual gameplay as closely as possible, so they captured footage from two players in the same squad on the same 64-player server, with each running on one of Sony's consoles.

The result is anywhere between 10-15fps gains on the Pro, even in situations where both dip below 60. The Pro also offers more consistent frame-times, which results in a better feel for the game overall. Neither platform can reach a locked 60fps, but the Pro's advantage is clear.

The same one-size-fits-all approach is also present in multiplayer, meaning the frame-rate and graphical advantage can be felt when running in 4K or 1080p mode.
