Assassin's Creed overhaul 2016 mod aims to improve the original game's visuals

The original Assassins' Creed looks dated today, this mod aims to increase the overall graphics quality to fit modern standards.

Mod creator Hecumarine has released an updated version of his graphics overhaul mod for the original Assassin's Creed. This mod features updated textures, particle effects, and more.

The 2016 version is actually an update of an earlier release of this mod, improving things further. Texture resolution especially has seen a nice bump, from 256×256 to 512×512 and 512×512 to 1024×1024.

Some of the textures were ported from Assassin's Creed: Revelations, while others are new. Skins for some of the NPCs have also been updated, changing them in certain parts to new, higher-quality ones.

You can see some comparison shots below, and you'll find the download link at ModDB (Thanks, DSOGaming).

Hecumarine will not release any further updates to this mod, as he has moved on to work on a similar update for Assassin's Creed 2.
