Uncharted movie gets yet another director, maybe this one will last?

How many directors were attached to the Uncharted movie over the years?

The Uncharted movie project seems to have returned to some form of pre-production again, as Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures has tapped Shawn Levy to direct.

Shawn Levy most recently served as an executive producer and director of a couple of episodes in the first season of Netflix's Stranger Things, and is due to direct more in the next. His other credits include producing the sci-fi movie Arrival, with Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, and directing the Hugh Jackman robo-boxing movie Real Steel.

Perhaps more interestingly, Levy was among the original creators of the Night at the Museum franchise, which says he at least knows a thing or two about movies of that nature.

Levy will replace Joe Carnahan, who wrote the most recent script draft and was previously eyed for the job.
