Civilization 6 dominates weekly Steam Charts, followed by Shadow Warrior 2

A lot of people pre-ordered Civilization 6 this past week, landing it in a couple of spots on Steam's weekly top sellers list.

Steam has updated the list of weekly top sellers once again, letting us know what some of its millions of users spent money on last week. As always, the top ten selling games land on this chart, based on sales made during the previous week.

Here they are:

Civilization 6

Civilization 6 scored the number 1 and number 3 spots on the list. The game has two versions on sale, the standard and a digital deluxe edition that includes the soundtrack and four post-launch add-ons. With the release date of October 21 approaching fast, it's no wonder fans of the series are excited, which usually translates to more pre-orders.

Shadow Warrior 2

Shadow Warrior 2 came out just before the weekend, and it has not left the top sellers list since. Of course, it was already on the list in the weeks leading up to launch, but the very good critical reception it got, along with the addition of co-op, only helped boost the numbers. Shadow Warrior 2 lands at number 2 and number 7

Mafia 3

Mafia 3 dropped to the number 4 spot, after charting twice the week before. Mafia 3 wasn't well received critically, and the PC version isn't great. Even after the 60fps patch, the game's forums and review sections are filled with players complaining about its lack of optimisation.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive landed at number 5. The game recently received an updated version of classic map Inferno, but it's not like it needed a reason to be a top seller. Global Offensive has constantly been on that list, even when everything is quiet on the new content end. For good reason, too, it's one of the most actively played games on Steam.

Europa Universalis 4: Rights of Man

Europa Universalis 4: Rights of Man landed at number 6. Rights of Man is an expansion to the very popular strategy game. Although it may seem niche by AAA console game standards, it has a dedicated community that always helps it top the charts.

GTA 5

GTA 5 lands at number 8. GTA 5 is no stranger to this list, though it's a bit surprising to see it here given that there was no discounts recently. Though you can attribute these sales to the newly released Bike DLC for GTA Online.

Battlerite

Battlerite is back on the list again, after having topped it a few weeks ago. Battlerite is still in Early Access, but has already garnered a sizeable fan base on Steam and on Twitch. It's a top-down hero brawler/shooter that blends a few popular genres together. With the recent positive buzz, many players went and bought it as a result.

Football Manager 2017

And finally, a PC game through and through, Football Manager 2017 is at the number 10 spot. This year's version of this massively popular strategy game is looking like a big upgrade, and thanks to recent previews, interest has surely spiked.

Come back next week to see this week's list of top sellers.
