Turns out you can skip one of the three bosses in Destiny: Rise of Iron's new raid and still get loot

Whoops! Destiny: Rise of Iron patch incoming.

Destiny: Rise of Iron players have worked out how to shortcut the new raid, Wrath of the Machine.

Wrath of the Machine has three bosses (spread out over four primary encounters), and it's the middle one, the Siege Engine, you can bypass completely.

See, the Siege Engine fight takes place on top of the Wall, and you have a limited amount of time to stop the Siege Engine in its tracks before it smashes you into a barrier. Beat it and you can climb on and ride through. Next, you have to get it back into working order so it will smash through a second barrier.

But thanks to what looks like some sort of glitch in Destiny: Rise of Iron's geometry, if you find the right spot you can just jump through both barriers and skip the whole thing.

It takes some tense platforming, but it shouldn't too hard as long as your allies are there to rez you if you fail. Best of all, according to Redditor NotTheLoneWolf, who also recorded the video walkthrough showing off the glitch above, the chest on the other side of the second barrier will spawn even though you haven't won the encounter. Free loot.

We expect Bungie to patch this as quickly as it can, as skipping about a third of the raid does rather undercut the challenge of what's meant to be Destiny: Rise of Iron's toughest PvE content.

I suppose this sort of thing is inevitable with games on this scale, and it's kind of lucky that it happened to be the Siege Engine that manifest a glitch - it's definitely the shortest section of the raid, assuming a co-ordinated fireteam goes at it. That means you still have plenty of work to do to claim all the prizes on offer in Wrath of the Machine; nobody's found a way to shortcut Vosiks and Asiks yet.
