No Man's Sky recreated in Classic Doom in just three weeks

Modder who has never played No Man's Sky recreates it in Doom.

Modder Robert Prest has recreated Hello Games' No Man's Sky in classic Doom and he's done a pretty good job - particularly when you consider the fact he hasn't actually played the game.

"This is the most recent project that I have been working on, and has taken around 3 weeks," Prest writes on his website.

Everything you see is randomly generated from the sky, to the ground, to the aliens, and you can even mod the latter to wear the face of anyone you like. Even your own if the fancy so takes you.

You can mine for resources with a laser, fly about with a jetpack, take a stab at engaging in conversations with alien races with the chance of severely p**sing them off - it's all there. Even the centre of the universe.

"There is probably lots that doesn’t match up to the game, but I’ve yet to get round to playing it, so just went with what I saw in the trailer."

You can download the mod now if you want to give it a whirl.
