Destiny: Rise of Iron - the best place to farm SIVA Offerings right now

Unless the RNG gods are being cranky.

If you've been playing Destiny: Rise of Iron, you'll know that a good way to level up is to visit Archon's Forge - the new expansion's equivalent (kind of) of The Taken King's Court of Oryx.

But to get into the Forge, you need SIVA Offerings - random drops you'll get through Rise of Iron activities.

Right now, people on reddit are having quite a bit of luck with drop rates by killing a particular Splicer Captain.

To find this foe, head to the area where the final part of the mission The Walls Come Down is set. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the sensor grid.

When you get there, you'll find the yellow bar Splicer Captain nearby. He seems to dropping SIVA Offerings like hot potatoes right now. People are reporting getting Rare offerings after killing him, along with a few reports of others getting diddly squat, but it's worth paying him a visit.

Update: With the latest Destiny update, Bungie has increased the drop rate for SIVA Offerings in Archon's Forge, and also guaranteed a SIVA Offering drop from the Archon Priest enemies encountered during Quarantine Patrol missions. You don't need to do the mission to get this drop, by the way; just get a few shots in on somebody else's event to benefit.
