Say what you will about the directon Paper Mario: Color Splash is going in, but it looks beautiful.
This new trailer details some neat features, like using the GamePad screen to cut certain elements from the world, and using single-use giant objects to fight enemies (ala Sticker Star, a game that divided Paper Mario fans).
This is the first HD Paper Mario game, and while it seems increasingly unlikely that it’ll be quite as involved as the GameCube series entry, The Thousand-Year Door, it’s almost guaranteed to be the best looking game in the series.
We’re particularly intrigued by the Super Mario Bros. 3 level that makes an appearance at the 3:16 mark.
Paper Mario: Color Splash will release on October 7.
