A look at what’s available in the Battlefield 1 beta along with some first impressions.

Now that the Battlefield 1 beta has been available for day – provided you had an early access code, Westie is here to assess what’s there after spending some time with it.

In the video above, our Battlefield expert goes into detail about his experience with the beta during its first day, and some of the few things that stood out. Westie touches on his experience playing the game at very early stages all the way to the current version. He believes it offers a good mix of some of the stronger elements of Battlefield 3, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 4.

He also offers his take on how the combat is a bit more lethal than older games, making gameplay feel faster that it’s ever been. This feeling is amplified further by the presence of strong armour and the new melee charge mechanic, which creates chaos in close quarter combat.

You can try it our for yourself, as the beta has just gone live for all platforms.
