Destiny: The Collection - here's everything you need to know if new to the game
For those contemplating making a jump into Destiny, the recently announced collection seems the way to go about it. And to get you up to speed on exactly what is included, and what to expect before making the leap, Arekkz has created a series of videos just for you.

Now that's out of the way, A View From The Tower kicks off this week with a look at Destiny: The Collection. It includes all five Destiny adventures in one package: the base game, The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and the upcoming expansion Rise of Iron.
As previously announced, those who pre-order The Collection digitally will be granted access to all content straight away to prep them for Rise of Iron’s release - and it comes with a character boost to help move things along.
Pre-ordering will also net the customer the Iron Gjallarhorn rocket launcher, and the Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow, and those looking to upgrade from Destiny last-gen to current-gen, those who own The Taken King on legacy platforms can upgrade to The Collection edition for $40.
That's $20 less than the list price for the collection ($60) so the upgrade would save you a bit of money instead of having to buy everything all over again at retail price.
Right now, Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition for Xbox One is $20 on the US end of Amazon. If you bought it and a $30 digital code for the Rise of Iron, expansion you'd pay $10 more ($50) than if you upgraded from last-gen Destiny to current-gen Destiny.
So, upgrading seems the way to go if you are already a Destiny player and want to switch to PS4 or Xbox One. Not that I am trying to push you or anything. I just like to save money like everyone else and thought I would point it out.
The upgrade offer is valid until January 31, 2017, and is only available to owners of the digital version of Destiny: The Taken King in the same console family.
