A second Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod is in the works

Much like Just Cause actually has room for multiple Ricos, there is apparently room for multiple Just Cause 3 multiplayer mods.

Just Cause 2 was already a blast, but it only got better when the modding community added multiplayer to the mix. So it's only natural for fans to hope Just Cause 3 would get the same treatment, but outside of the rare trailer little progress seems to have been made from the original team. The surprise good news is another developer is stepping up to create their own version - nanos, the folks behind multiplayer mods for Mafia 2 and GTA 4. What's more, there's a new trailer showing that it's off to a good start.

Nanos was previously working on a multiplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto 5, but that project was squashed when Take Two sent it a cease-and-desist notice. But don't worry about Square Enix doing the same - apparently this mod has Square and Avalanche Studios full blessing. What's more, the mod is developing nicely outside of a few hiccups with Denuvo's anti-piracy software, and should be in a playable state soon.

There's no release date just yet, but if the mod is anything like JC2-MP it should be an absolute blast. Don't forget that you'll need a PC version of Just Cause 3 to get the mod working at launch.
