The Division's G36 Assault Rifle is the best weapon in Underground - but it's getting nerfed

The G36 Assault Rifle is one of if not the best weapons in The Division's Underground update 1.3; however, that will change at some point.

The G36 has three variations, and an unintentionally high base damage value, according to Arekkz. It is so high, Massive plans to nerf it at some point soon.

At present, the Military G36 comes with +23% Enemy Armor Damage which applies only to PvE. The base damage 14.4K which Arekzz says is rather high, and it can shoot 750 rounds per minute and a 30 rounds mag. With suitable modifications, it's easy to push both the RPM and the mag capacity up to 969 and 60, respectively.

Out in the field against highly leveled and armored enemies, with a good build and mods, the gun will burn enemies down rather quickly. And, again, this is just the base version of the rifle irrespective of Talents; however, there is one worth calling out and it's the Focused Talent.

When no skills are in cooldown, the weapon damage is increased by 14%, and this Talent will roll on all three variations of the G36.

The weapon drops in the Dark Zone, the Underground and can be found in an Underground Cache. It can also be bought upon reaching level 40.

It sounds like a great weapon, so grab one while you can, as again, Massive plans to nerf it. Arekkz isn't sure which aspects will be de-buffed but hopefully, it won't be nerfed too badly or it will end up on the scrap pile with other unwanted weapons.

The Underground 1.3 update for The Division was released yesterday on PC and Xbox One. It will be made available for PS4 users on August 2.
