Naughty America.com went to LA’s games show last week to discuss “how gamers utilize VR headsets for adult content,” outlining an inevitable explosion of first-person porn alongside adoption of gaming headsets.

It’s coming, as it were. According to Naughty America CIO Ian Paul, VR porn and gaming are two of the biggest potential drivers of VR as a platform, and the two are relying on each other to succeed.

“We know that by the end of the year, 10-20 million people will be looking at virtual reality adult content at least once a month,” Paul told VR Source at E3 last week.

“But predicated on that is a huge market for gaming, and for us gaming solves half the equation. To look at adult VR content you need to have the headset, and if you buy a headset for gaming half the challenge is already solved for us.”

Paul, speaking in the embedded interview below, said that Naughty America is looking to the games industry to boost VR adoption, and that he felt the reverse is true: that games companies are hopeful that VR porn will mean an increase headset sales.

Naughty America VR videos and gaming to go hand-in-hand

“It’s a real win-win,” he said, adding that porn is expected to be the third biggest VR sector after gaming in top position and live events and sports in second. Naughty America porn content already works on Samsung Gear VR, Oculus and Vive. Naughty America has its own VR headset, a variation on the Google cardboard headset, which it sells for $20.

Naughty America focused on its technical innovation in porn to announce its E3 precense before the show.

“Naughty America is excited to attend E3 Expo in LA June 14-16 to demo and showcase the latest in adult VR content. Naughty America has been on the forefront of technological advancements from HD to 4k and now VR adoption as the first major adult studio to produce VR content,” said the site.

It had reps ready to “discuss the expanding role immersive mobile content plays in adult entertainment, how gamers utilize VR headsets for adult content and explain the technological horizon,” according to its PR firm.

Last year, traffic to VR porn sites grew over 200 percent according to SimilarWeb.
